ASPIRE is a presence, initiating recovery and empowerment that provides an opportunity for growth and development and fosters autonomy. Survivors of human trafficking have the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and love. They should be looked to as the experts of their life and should be awarded the same rights and opportunities to pursue their hopes and ambitions. ASPIRE believes in the cultivation of resources, services, community, and human relationships to foster equity and allow dreams to become a reality.

Because we believe in providing essential services and building human relationships, we feel that it is our duty to become more active during these uncertain times. We understand that our underserved and unsheltered are extremely vulnerable to COVID19 and other kinds of deadly predators.

Everyone is not afforded the ability to shelter in place. Quite frankly, some of those who can, lack the necessary essentials in order to keep themselves and others safe. These groups of individuals still gather together to support one another and share resources. In order to meet everyday needs, many will have to travel around our cities and towns. This could additionally expose many other people to COVID19 unnecessarily. They cannot adhere to Dr. Lavine’s daily reminders;

1. Wash your hands. If you are unable to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer. These community members cannot afford the high prices placed upon good because of greed and self-interest.
2. Stay Calm – Members of the underserved community are just like you and I. They are worried about their loved ones. They worry about themselves and how they will continue to make ends meet, in spite of the uncertainty that exist during these times. 
3. Stay Home – So many community members are unsheltered. They do not have that option. Those that may have that option, must leave in order to find much needed items and support. 
4.  Stay Safe – Far too often these community members are subject to preditors and those who seek to exploit and abuse them. 

We have seen that something as small as hand sanitizer is such an essential part of helping in the fight against COVID19. In addition, masks and cleaning supplies are highly important. So our response is simple, GET THESE ITEMS TO THE UNDERSERVED AND UNSHELTERED COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
